Uma Ashrani

Uma cares about intersectionality and meaningful representation for marginalized groups. Her favorite part of RCI is that it spreads awareness in the community about pressing issues. She likes teaching and volunteered as a teacher at Math Academy over previous summers.

Annie Chen

Annie Chen is currently a high school student at Mayo High School. Annie is the leader for the elections and state policy section at Climate Generation. She focuses on writing and advocating for statewide climate policy proposals.

Rita Dai

Rita Dai is a junior at Century High School that is dedicated to education and amplifying marginalized voices. She is involved in her community through clubs like Century’s AYLA and organizations like Living Room Tutors. She is constantly listening to music or binging to her favorite shows.

Kirthi Manivannan

Kirthi Manivannan(she/her) is a current junior at Century High School and a member of the Logistics Committee of RCI. Her research skills and passion for creating change have helped her work within the logistics committee and RCI as a whole. By using her strengths to her advantage, Kirthi hoped to support her peers and the Rochester community.

Kesarin Mehta

Kesarin Mehta is a rising senior at Mayo High School who has centered his activism around educating and organizing within the Rochester community. Whether it’s working to improve the equity within the Rochester Public School District or educating the members of the Mayo High School Diversity Committee, Kesarin is committed to making an impact in Rochester. In his free time, you can find him making fire beats or performing at a poetry slam.

Katrina Sortland

Katrina is a sophomore at Zumbrota-Mazeppa Highschool. She

likes playing sports including soccer, Nordic skiing, and track and field. She also has a passion for climate change and is the co-leader of Rochester's Citizens' Climate Lobby chapter.

Mary Villarama

Mary Villarama is a sophomore at Mayo High School. Involved with Mayo’s student government, Mayo’s environmental action committee and diversity committee, she is passionate about activism through intersectionality. In her spare time, she can be found taking ballet classes and rehearsing classical and modern works and repertoire.
